Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Classes
Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)
Since 2010, we have participated in the State of Florida’s VPK program. Our program runs from 8:30am-11:30am Monday through Friday. There are no out-of-pocket costs for families wishing for their child to participate in VPK only. Additionally, for a fee we also offer various child-care options outside of our VPK program times.
Currently, we offer 4 VPK classes. These classes participate in the same “In the Beginning” curriculum that our other classes do. Within our curriculum we incorporate the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for Four-Year-Olds, adopted in 2011:
- Physical Health
- Approaches to Learning
- Social and Emotional Development
- Language, Communication, and Emergent Literacy
- Cognitive Development and General Knowledge
Two or three times per year, the children in our VPK classes participate in the Florida VPK Assessment. This assessment tracks the child’s progress throughout the year. The child’s assessment results are shared with his/her parents so that they will know how their child is progressing.
Teaching four- and five-year-olds the truths of God’s Word and the wonders of the world that He has created is a privilege that we are grateful for and a responsibility that we take seriously.
